Introducing CPM People

At CPM People we’ve always moved with the times. That’s why we’re at the forefront when it comes to making freelancers’ lives easier. CPM People steers clients through the complexities of IR35 and national tax laws and makes the freelancing lifestyle as stress-free as it should be.

CPM People is a name that really reflects the way we work. Since forming in as a contract management company (also known as an umbrella company), our remit has always been to help freelance and contract workers enjoy a simplified working lifestyle. CPM People takes care of all your payment administration and helps you operate as tax efficiently as possible. Our ExpressPay scheme is the perfect example; freelancers get paid straightaway for their work, while we handle all the admin with the agencies and clients.

Over the last few years, we’ve expanded our offering to include a comprehensive tax advisory service, access to the childcare vouchers scheme, and ongoing support for freelancers all over the world.
While all of these changes and innovations have been developing organically over time, this is the perfect opportunity for CPM People to restate our offering and remind you that we’ve got the track record and the industry insight to help. Times may have been hard, but we always make things easy for our clients.

Indeed, CPM People remains an utterly client-focused service. Our objectives certainly haven’t changed: full compliance and tax efficient operation for all our contractors. And the changes we’ve implemented are all part and parcel of our long-term strategy; we will remain independent and we will continue to work hard in your long term interests. Stability is our watchword.

In other words, this is not a change of name or a change of website just for the sake of it. Rather it’s the result of an accumulation of new services for CPM People’s worldwide client base. Our Chairman, Solomon Williams, explains: “While it’s been a difficult time for the industry, there is still a huge demand for our services. So much so that we’ve expanded greatly over the last year. Our new name really sums up our approach much better – it’s a very hands-on, very personal way of working, and we think it’s just what freelancers are looking for.”

If you’re already one of CPM’s people, you know you can rely on CPM People for in-depth accountancy insight, exceptional understanding of domestic and international tax laws, and all the practical support you’ll ever need. Why choose CPM People?

Here are a series of valid reasons:

We have no debts; we do not borrow. We do not factor nor take up invoice discount facilities.

 

We maintain our liquid assets to ensure we can satisfy our payroll commitments for at least two months ahead, giving us a valuable cushion against any ‘bumps in the road’.

 

Our ExpressPay freelancers are paid on presentation of their timesheets, not when the agency advances the funds to us.

 

We work in strict accordance with HMRC and have fully satisfied all their audits; we also have the UK revenue dispensation that takes away the requirement to report expenses and benefits on P9D and P11D.

 

We are AUG licensed in Germany, and have been for three years, following successful completion of the Bundesagentur für Arbeit’s (German Federal Workers Agency) rigorous auditing process.

 

We work with fully regulated and highly qualified professionals around the world, particularly those in the accountancy and the legal professions who help to ensure our full compliance from country to country.

 

Our staff are experienced and knowledgeable; they advise contractors based on their own understanding, as well as on our extensive information network.

 

We check all legal contracts submitted to us before we enter into and sign them.  We believe it is wise to limit our exposure in this way.

 

We can provide solid reassurance that CPM People does not have any other companies involved in our pay chain. Funds received at CPM are only sent to the bank accounts held by our contractors – not to any other party. This is demonstrable proof of our integrity and one of the keys to our longevity.
